Titan is an animistic and athletic ceremony that focuses on ‘modern-day tragedy’. Alone on stage with her gym ball, comedian and performer Joëlle Fontannaz is harnessed with orthopaedic protections. Like a new age titan, she seeks to believe in herself and in her ability to carry all the suffering of the world in order to alleviate humanity on the brink of being swallowed up by a rumbling and oozing magma of tragic, fragmented and hazy facts. Titan might quite simply depict the birth of a quirky and inspired myth based on a Nietzschean equation: tragic = joyful.
