In his new work, Savino Caruso takes stock of our society by examining the intricacies of domination in all its forms. He tries to find meaning through humour and satire: from the melting of glaciers to the squandering of the earth’s resources, the omnipresence of patriarchy in our relationships and the ambivalence of sexuality, everything is scrutinised! Fascinated by opposition forces and driven by the energies that emerge from them, Caruso’s activist theatre is subversive and experimental, as radical as it is moving. His performance confronts us with our own contradictions in the face of the struggles we wage (or do not wage), between the will to act, inertia and absurdity, fostering a powerful reflection on the political role of the artist.
