SHOWROOM is a performance about useless things, our endangered world, individuals destined for oblivion and the compartmentalisation of social relations. In a white box, actress Rébecca Balestra in turn embodies a presenter and a hostess at a trade fair, the promotional voice of a regional supermarket, and a postman – all characters who make up the bedrock of our consumerist society and who are gradually being replaced by robots. These human lives have become residues of productivity, nowadays relegated to the periphery and oblivion. SHOWROOM is a museum-like performance, the artefact of an endangered world, a living archive, an area of remembrance for those who already are, and those who are about to become obsolete.
