Extra Time Plus

The Extra Time Plus scheme, launched in 2022 when Anne-Christine Liske took over as director of far°, extends the Extra Time programme (2015 – 2021) by incorporating it into a new national network to promote up-and-coming artists. The project brings together far° Nyon, Südpol Lucerne and LAC Lugano to jointly encourage emerging artists from the three language regions at a national level through residency periods, financial support, administrative and dramaturgical advice and performances in Nyon, Lucerne (Eyes On – Südpol festival) and Ticino.

Together, the institutions aim to support, extend and stimulate the work of up-and-coming Swiss contemporary artists. The participants in this programme come from both the performing arts and other artistic disciplines. What they have in common, according to the programme’s partners, is their ability to take a fresh look and develop an innovative approach to the stage and performance.

With this in mind, Extra Time Plus offers artistic support to enable them to create an original work by continuing the development of a pre-existing short piece or by embarking on a new project. The aim is to give artists the opportunity to refine their research and share it with far° audiences. Each artist receives intensive support over a period of several months from specialists in the performing arts, who provide them with a theoretical analysis, a critical outside view and practical tools to help them question and refine their project.

Extra Time Plus helps cultural institutions and participating artists to network and overcome language barriers. The partner institutions also provide support for production and help to promote regional recognition and national visibility for the artists through the dissemination of their work.
