retouch

Softly retouching our everyday lives, revisiting our shared histories with lucidity, redrawing the lines that shape our world, rekindling and strengthening the ties between us: in times marked by deepening crises and increasingly visible wars, this small yet essential gesture feels more necessary than ever. We invite you to let it seep in as you journey through the artistic projects of the 42nd far° festival of performing arts.

This year, 23 artistic teams from Germany, Belgium, Canada, France, Lebanon, Palestine, Switzerland and Turkey bring us stories that are both powerful and poetic. Sometimes rooted in reality, these works always place intimate and personal questions centre stage. Lie back in a hammock and listen to what migratory birds have to tell us. Is it possible to challenge certain conventions of the theatre space, and perhaps beyond, in order to imagine broader social change? Which recipes passed down by our grandparents can heal us, or at the very least offer a moment of comfort and release? How might we invent together the rules of a unique outdoor sport by the lakeside?

Through dance, juggling, theatre, a shared poetic meal, or by observing a woman and a hen in a secluded world, five curated thematic journeys and five family-friendly performances invite audiences to explore the festival in different ways. Let us reconnect with our desires and with what truly moves us. Our world changes when we bring greater care to the gestures of everyday life, when we gently redraw the lines.

Since last autumn, artists have come to rehearse and create performances in Nyon. They speak to us in Swiss-German about responsibility within families, the persistence of racism in Switzerland, the intensity of adolescence, and, among other things, the difficulty of making choices in a world saturated with possibilities.

La Cour des Marchandises once again becomes a place to come together and exchange. Drop by for a drink or a bite to eat. Come discuss the performances, enjoy a gentle concert, or heat up the dancefloor together.

Treat yourself to the full festival experience with the Unlimited pass for all performances or simply dive in for one evening with the Tonight Pass! . And on Wednesday 19 August, we are delighted to invite you to embark on your festival journey free of charge, with the entire programme open to all.

We look forward to welcoming you to the festival, at Château de Prangins, at Interlude Library, at Scène Nord, at Château de Nyon, in the parks of Nyon, at La Levratte, and even in a field in Duillier.

Enjoy far°!
