Gaetano Cunsolo is a visual artist who uses the stage to engage in a dialogue with the night as a “sensitive space-time”. Composed of movements, sounds and objects from the nocturnal world, the architectural landscape of Sleepless reveals the disturbances in circadian rhythm that are linked to the fantasy of massive industrialisation and continuous productivity. At a time when the differences between day and night are becoming increasingly blurred, the relationship that human beings have with their habitat is not only changing, but is also having a real impact on their physiology: anxiety, insomnia, exhaustion, depression… By calling on multiple forms such as improvisation, dance, set and sound design, Sleepless explores the issues at stake in this evolution.
