Other participative projects

Open to all, participatory projects describe modes of creation that are invented between artists and participants. Le far° encourages the development of such works initiated by artists, whether they are established or in the early years of their career.

In this type of approach, participants can be involved in different ways: from the very beginning of the project, in a stage of the creative process or even during the performances. Attentive to its local roots, far° mainly calls on individuals, groups and associations from the Nyon region.

Students, teenagers, seniors, amateurs, people with special needs… Anyone can contribute to developing and broadening the meaning of an artistic proposal. In this way, participatory projects create a shared exploratory terrain from which unique and meaningful works can emerge for both the artists and the participants.

The uniqueness and expertise of far° in this field has led to its association with the HETSL’s continuing education course in cultural mediation (CAS).

2024

  • À ce stade, a participatory theatrical workshop – The voices of the residents of Nyon 2050
À ce stade was guided by the French-speaking artist Joëlle Fontannaz, as part of the Nyon 2050 process initiated by the town of Nyon. The choir formed during the workshops lent their voices to the citizens’ words, collected during workshops held in several districts of Nyon in autumn 2023 by the Laboratoire d’Architecture (Geneva). A public performance was held at far° on Saturday 1 June 2024.
  • Le bal des oiseaux, Journée des Arts de Nyon
Every year, far° takes part in La Journée des Arts de Nyon (Nyon Arts Day) and invites the public to come and meet the permanent team and contemporary artists for workshops and other artistic discoveries. The event is part of the ‘fabrique des arts vivants’ programme and takes place in the Salle des Marchandises. On Saturday 2 November 2024, the far° team gave carte blanche to Marion Thomas, who invited the audience to form a harmonious cloud using specific scenic codes reminiscent of birds. In the afternoon, Marion Zurbach and Zoey Agro also invited the audience to ‘make birds’ by exploring the connections between their bodies and their voices.
